Earl Kenneth Woodrum of Danville passed away on November 3, 2013 at Hawthorne Inn Nursing Home. He was born July 21, 1918 in State Line, Indiana to Mabel (Davis) and Berkley Woodrum both are deceased. He was united in marriage to Virginia Hirschler on October 27, 1940 in Danville at Central Christian Church by Rev. Frank Kennedy until her passing April 18, 2000. He will be missed by his daughter, Cheryl Naylor of Crawfordsville, Indiana and son Gary (Lyn) Woodrum of Algonquin, Illinois; his sister Esther; He leaves behind his grandchildren Kane Naylor of Anderson, Indiana, Leanne (Tom) Dutton of Lillington, North Carolina, Kari (Brian) Maloney of Marengo, Illinois and Eric (Erin) Woodrum of Smyrnia, Tennesse along with four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers Arthur, Amos, Ernest, Russell and Harlan and sisters Bertha, Dorothy, Pearl, and Neva. Earl worked several years in the retail business for both Sears and Montgomery Wards. Also 20 years in inventory control as Esco Corporation in Danville. After his retirement from Esco in 1973 he became a Realtor and Broker having his own business. He also managed rental properties. Member of the Central Christian Church, holding many positions in the church as well as being president of his Co-Wed Sunday School Class. He also was president of the Danville local chapter of AARP at the age of 67. He was a member of the area board of realtors, masonic lodge of Potomac and Danville Consistory, his hobbies are gardening flowers and yard work. He enjoys sports and is a long time Chicago White Sox fan. A celebration of Earls life will be held at 11am on Saturday November 9, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Minister Hank Anderson Officiating. A visitation will be held from 9am-11am on Saturday November 9, 2013 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
