Earl W. Jones

Earl W. Jones, 83 of Danville, passed away at 7:15am, Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman, IL. He was born on May 10, 1938, in Springfield, IL, the son of Kenneth and Esther {Applegate} Jones, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Maxine Huddleson who preceded him in death May 11, 2021. They would have celebrated their 60th year of marriage in October. He is survived by his daughter, Jana Weist of Danville; his siblings, Arlene Jones of Georgia, Marilyn (Paul) Miller of Blue Grass, Iowa, Hazel Smith of Davenport, Iowa, Carol (Harold) George of Bettendorf, Iowa, & Elaine Bernaurer of Davenport, Iowa; and his sister-in-law, Lana (Edward) Lagacy of Georgetown. Earl was a proud Veteran of the US Army serving for two years. He worked at General Motors for 25 years until his retirement. After GM, he went to work at Danville County Market and worked there for many years. He served as Elder for Lone Oak Church of Christ and was active in the choir. He was a loving caregiver to his in-laws for several years. A private family service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E.
