Cayuga, Ind. - Earl Otto Morgan, 84, of rural Cayuga passed away at 12:59 p.m. EST Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was born June 22,1937 in Rossville, Illinois, the son of the late Herbert E. and Harriett Angeline (Kenney) Morgan.

Earl married Eileen Evelyn Nicholson on August 5, 1956, in Cayuga, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include his children: Darrell (Lisa) Morgan and Brian (Tracy) Morgan both of Cayuga, Indiana, and Monica (Erich) Hannah of Covington, Indiana; five grandchildren: Elizabeth (Steve) Burrows, Annie (Tim) Romanello, Brent (Kelli) Morgan, Carter (Abby) Morgan and Emily Hartman; six great-grandchildren: Ellie and Amelia Burrows, Taylor and Keaton Romanello, and Rory and Adler Morgan; sister: Joan Hepburn of Wichita Falls, Kansas, and three brothers: Herbert A. Morgan of New Albany, Mississippi; Dale E. Morgan of Joplin, Missouri, and Robert D. (Bonnie) Morgan of La Grande, Oregon.

Earl was preceded in death by his son-in-law: Darrin Hartman; two sisters: Bertha Walker and Beulah Stockton, and brother: Raymond Gene Morgan.

Earl worked for 31 years at U.S. Can Company in Danville, Illinois retiring in 1999 as a press maintainer and leadman. He also farmed for many years in Cayuga. Earl was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Second Church of Christ in Danville, Illinois. He served as Elder and Sunday School teacher for many years. Earl was active in The Gideons International for many years as well. He was a 1955 graduate of Cayuga High School. He enjoyed helping with the food share program for Northern Vermillion County and the Cayuga Senior Citizens Club. Earl was an avid volunteer at St. James Methodist Church food pantry and the Dwelling Place in Danville, Illinois.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. EST Thursday, February 10, 2022 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Greg Taylor and Dale DeNeal; Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. EST Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Second Church of Christ or The Dwelling Place.
