Cayuga, Ind. -- Earl L. McClanahan, 76, of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 10:42 p.m. CST Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the V.A. Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois. He was born January 14, 1932 in Littlefield, Texas, the son of the late Cevil Harvey and E.B. Powell McClanahan. He married Nancy Yowell on December 23, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. She survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Terry(David)Cummins of Lewistown, Illinois and Dora Lee(Lonnie)McMurray of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, Rodney(Judy)McClanahan of Pekin, Illinois; Robert(Tracy)McClanahan and Joey McClanahan both of Cayuga, Indiana; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Wade(Mary Lou)McClanahan of Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents that raised him, Jesse and Berta McClanahan; one grandson, Craig Arron McClanahan. Earl was a steamfitter and a member of the Local #293 in Danville, Illinois. He was also a boilermaker and welder by trade. He was a veteran of the Korean War receiving many metals and was also a member of the Cayuga American Legion Rainbow Post #263. Earl was a ham radio operator going by the call signal KB9SX. He was also a private pilot and enjoyed flying. Earl was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved his family dearly. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 1 p.m. CST(Illinois Time) at the V.A. Illiana Health Care System Protestant Chapel in Danville, Illinois; Burial of Cremains: V.A. National Cemetery, Danville, Illinois with military rites by the Cayuga American Legion Rainbow Post # 263. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, C/O Mrs. J.
