Earl E. Quartier, 62, of Westville, passed away at 8:10am, Sunday, September 14, 2014, at his home. He was born the son of Charles E. and Eunice {Bossoloni} Quartier on January 16, 1952 in Danville, IL. Earl graduated from Westville High School Class of 70. He retired from General Motors. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army serving in Germany during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. Earl was a member of the Westville American Legion Post #51 where he had served as Past Commander, Adjutant, Finance Officer, & was a member & officer of the 40/8. Earl was a self-professed puppy-dog kind of guy and enjoyed many things including, fishing, cooking out, gardening, & golfing. It was known to many that he loved driving his 1971 Corvette. He was also big Green Bay Packers fan, as well as, New York Yankees fan. Earl enjoyed being around people and socializing with his many friends. Earl is survived by: his siblings, Scott (Kathryn) Quartier, Dominic Nick Quartier, & Charla Quartier, all of Westville; his nephews, Christopher (Amber) Quartier of Marion, IA, Bryce (Jenna) Quartier of Peoria, Adam (April) Quartier of Wheaton, & Daniel Quartier of Plainfield; and his great nephew, Logan Quartier of Wheaton. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A celebration of Earls life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, September 19, 2014, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 3pm-7pm, Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville, with Military rites conducted by the Westville American Legion Post #51. Memorial donations may be given in Earls name to the Westville American Legion Post #51 or Westville Community Academic Foundation.
