E. Juanita Modglin

Danville- E. Juanita Modglin, 86, of Danville passed away at 5:46 AM on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on November 18, 1925 in Flatwoods, IL to Clarence and Beatrice Kerley Phelps. She married Norman Modglin on March 15, 1947. He survives. Also surviving are six children, Ken (Debbie) Modglin of Rantoul, Pat (Tom) Rhoades of Monticello, Kathy Royse of Homer, Rex (Sue) Modglin of Danville, Dean (Carla) Modglin of Muskego, WI, and Tim Modglin of Danville; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Russell and Edwin Phelps. Juanita attended three years of high school in Golconda, IL, and graduated from Peoria Manual High. She worked at several places in Southern Illinois before moving to the Danville area, where she last worked at the ER admissions for Lakeview Medical Center. Juanita was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Danville and enjoyed playing golf and travelling with her family. She truly loved taking care of and raising her family. A service to celebrate the life of Juanita Modglin will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Mark Keyser will officiate. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Pope County, IL and will take place at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 23. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM prior to the service on Monday, also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Ridgeview Baptist Church.
