E. Dean Evans, 81, of Mahomet, passed away on February 12, 2009 at the Barnes-Jewish Christian Hospital in St.Louis, MO. He was born on February 16, 1927, in Danville, the son of Ernest and Atha (Gilliand) Evans. Both deceased. Survivors include his wife, Hazel (Hawkins) Evans, of Champaign, their son, Clyde (Sharlyn) Evans of West Des Moines, Iowa, two granddaughters, Alycia (Andy) Foelker of Madison, Wis., Stephanie (Keegan) Jarvis of Des Moines, Iowa, and his grandson, Chris Evans of West Des Moines, Iowa. His two brothers, James Evans of Danville, W.G. Snider (Janet) Evans of Pontiac, Il, his three sisters, Sue (Bill) Zwicke of Green Valley, AZ, Mary (Neil) Curless of Reno, NV, Christine Rowland of Tacoma, Wash., and many nieces and nephews. His Brothers, Claire Evans, Howard Jenkins, Barton Evans, and his sister, Lois Corbett precedes Dean in death. Dean attended Danville High School, and served in the U.S. Navy for three years during WWII. After the service, Dean worked for G&E&I, Missouri Pacific, and Union Pacific Railroad and with his spare time, enjoyed flying radio-controlled planes.
