Greg was a truck driver for McLane Midwest for over 15 years logging over one million safe miles during his time there. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion & American Legion Patriot Guard Riders. Greg was an avid bowler and inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 2012. He was a loyal Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. If it wasn't a Cubs or Bears game on TV it was NASCAR. He loved cheering on his favorite driver, Tony Stewart. Greg would golf whenever he had the chance. Mostly though, you could find him riding on his Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, full dresser, which he waited and dreamed of owning most of his life. Greg had fought a fierce and courageous fight with cancer. His family's strength and love is what kept him going strong. Greg touched so many people's lives and will leave a void in his family's hearts as well as the many friends and family who also loved him. The Sherer family would like to extend a special thank you to Carle Hospice and all their workers, especially his nurse, Karen.
