Douglas William Boggess, 55, of Danville, passed away tragically at 8:30pm, Saturday, August 8, 2015 from injuries suffered from a motor vehicle accident. He was born on July 13, 1960, in Danville, IL, the son of Donald and Doris {Onley} Boggess, both deceased. On May 25, 1991, he was united in marriage to Brenda Steenbergen in Allerton, IL. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his step-daughter, Jenna (Josh) Howard of Westville; his brother, Donald (Teri) Boggess of Rantoul; his sisters, Theresa (Ray) Prunkard of Ridge Farm, Peg (Mel) Barkley of Veedersburg, IN, Penny (Bruce) Davis of Michigan, & Kim (Rick) McComas of Allerton; his grandchildren, Kaydence Bridgman, Madelyn Howard, & Landon Howard; his mother & father-in-law, Billie & Hershell Steenbergen; his sisters-in-law, Debi (Kevin) Kagels of Westville & Sue (Luis) Alvizures; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews; and his lifetime friends, John Hill, Phil Starr, Mike Gunner, Dean, & Jimmy. Douglas enjoyed riding his KTM #53, as well as going fishing and mushroom hunting. He like to play cards and watching poker on TV. He worked previously at Ball Corp., then later in janitorial maintenance for McLane Midwest & currently at the Pilot Station. Douglas belonged to the Calvary Baptist Church and recently attended Bethel Baptist. He loved the Lord with his whole heart. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Douglas' life will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1632 Georgetown Rd, Tilton, IL, with Pastors Scott McCurty and Joe Humrichous officiating. Visitation will be held 9am to 10:30am on Wednesday prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery, Danville.
