Douglas P. Heidrick 80 of Danville,passed away on February 16, 2016. Doug was born April 4, 1935 in Danville,the only son of Donald and Delilah (Phillips) Heidrick. Doug married the love of his life Marilyn Pierson on April 8, 1956 in Danville, she survives. Also surviving Doug are three daughters; Cynthia (Bruce) Benefiel of Newton, IL, Trina Marie Heidrick Page of Antioch, CA. and Annette (Blake) Swinford of Bismarck, five grandchildren; Brent Allen (Jody) Benefiel of Newton, Whitney Brooke (Andy) Millis of Danville, Chase, Drake and Eon Swinford of Bismarck, six great grandchildren; Kyle Wright of Newton, Chasity, Alayna and Tristan of Newton, Jeremiah and Aubrey Millis of Danville, three sisters; Jean Lister of Danville, Mildred Hettmansberger of Gray, GA. and Ruth Guetterman of Martin, TN, also special friends Don Claywell, Bob and Betty Pickett and all of his church family. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Marcia Crowder. Doug lived along the Wabash River where he loved to fish, swim and enjoy the outdoors. Doug was a hardworking man, for over 39 years he worked at GE,then finishing his work career with Valmont Electric. He loved to be outside whether he was mowing the grass at home or at church, or working in his garden and most of all Pa Pa's workshop. Doug was a past Member of the Northside Church of the Nazarene in Danville. He liked to help at the church as well, whether it was maintenance work or anything that just needed done.Doug could always be found helping. Most of all the love Doug had for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be his biggest blessing that he is leaving behind. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Monday February 29, 2016 at 11am. Pastor Dave Anderson from First Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday February 28, 2016 from 2-5 pm. Memorials can be made in Doug's name to First Church of the Nazarene.
