Douglas Hackman

Douglas R. Hackman, 58, of Tilton passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Douglas was born on March 19, 1953 in Danville, Illinois son of Robert and Helen (Steele) Hackman. He married Stacy McDaniel on July 17, 2010. She survives along with his parents; daughter: Tricia (Hackman) Dyal; three sons: Robert and Colten Hackman, and Brandon Jones; daughter-in-law: Michelle Hackman; son-in-law: Justin Dyal; five grandchildren: Mason and Michael Hackman, Matthew Terrell, Elena and Elissa Dyal; two brothers; David and Dan Hackman; father-in-law: Charles McDaniel and friend Naomi Vargo; and several nieces and nephews. Douglas was a graduate of Danville High School and founder of Hackman Construction, which has been serving Vermilion County for 35 years. Douglas enjoyed playing pool, the Illini, and the Yankees, but above all he loved spending time with his family and friends. A Celebration of Douglass Life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Garver officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday evening at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL (the family has requested that you wear Fighting Illini attire). Following the service, per his wishes he will be cremated.
