Douglas Grant Faulk of Danville, Illinois passed away on August 7, 2010 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Doug was born August 5, 1948, parents Merrill and Mathilda Faulk. Doug went to Danville Schools then attended Culver Military Academy and graduated Danville High School in 1967. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1975. He then pursued a nursing career, graduated from Lakeview School of Nursing in 1978 and was employed by Danville VA for several years. He married Debra Thomas in 1995, she survives. He is also survived by his children Dana (Rob) Cook of St. Joseph, Julie Faulk of Westville, Tonya Miller of Danville, Gary (Cassie) Hoaks of Covington, and Traci (Rodney) Miller of Herrington, KS; ten grandchildren: Skylar, Braydon, Ariana, Andrew, Tiffany, Brandon, Justin, Joshua, Alainee, and Hailey; special friends for many years John Maguire, Larry Edinger and Vic Craig. Rhonda Watson he thought of as a sister. He also adored Margaret Ward his Mothers best friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Kaitlyn Cook. He enjoyed his motorcycle, golfing, cooking, sports, and spending time with family & friends. He loved watching the Young and the Restless. A Celebration of Dougs Life will be held at 3:30 pm, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor James Ford officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 " 3:30 Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
