Hillsdale, Ind. - Dorwin E. Stevenson, 87, of Hillsdale, passed away at 1:50 p.m. EST Thursday, November 7, 2019 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was born March 20, 1932 in Cayuga, Indiana the son of Lucille F. (Kilgore) George and Ellsworth Stevenson.

Dorwin married Marlene J. Rice on January 27, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons: Kevin L. Stevenson of Hillsdale, Indiana and Kent A. (Ronda) Stevenson of Avon, Indiana; five grandchildren: Jaclynn (Ryan) Hastings of Hillsdale, Indiana; Kyle (Briana) Stevenson of Clinton, Indiana; Tiffany (Dan) Smith of Covington, Indiana; Isaac Stevenson of Avon, Indiana and Kaddi (Chris) Gruener of Danville, Indiana; seven great grandchildren; one sister: Delores (Don) Hartman of Cayuga, Indiana and one brother, Don W. Stevenson of Hillsdale, Indiana.

Dorwin was preceded in death by his parents, one sister: Dixie Lee Stevenson and one half brother: Curtis Wayne George.

Dorwin formerly owned and operated Stevenson Barber Shop in Montezuma, Indiana, retiring in 1997. He was a veteran of the United States Army Corps of Engineers serving in Germany. Dorwin was a 1950 graduate of Cayuga High School. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, trips to Sanibel Island, Florida, taking cruises and spending time with his family.

Private graveside services were held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Helts Prairie Cemetery, Clinton, Indiana. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana assisted the family with arrangements.
