Georgetown, Ill. -- Dortha "Dorothy" Rollins, 81, of Georgetown, passed away at 3:06 a.m. CDT Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois with her children at her side. Dortha was born April 24, 1929 in Hillsboro, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Anderson and Dollie Buckellew Manning. She married Allan Rollins on July 24, 1980 in Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1993. Dortha is survived by her six children and twelve grandchildren, Donna(Ron)Finley of Penfield, Illinois and her children, Robert and Angela; Roberta(Ed)Heidbrider of Cayuga, Indiana and her daughter, Michelle; Robert(Betty)Reitz of Toledo, Iowa and his children, Amy and Bobby; Rebecca(Steve)Colson of Indianapolis, Indiana and her children, Keisha and Shawn; Heidi(Steve)Tucker of Danville, Illinois and their children, Bryce; Matthew and Olivia; Renee Sinkes of Georgetown, Illinois and her children, Kayla and Samantha. Dortha was blessed with 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Marian Cooprider of Belgium, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ivela; Mary; Inez and Willa Rose; two brothers, Fred and Frankie; one great granddaughter, Brooklyn Michelle Cockerham. Our mother enjoyed canning the vegetables from her garden and making jelly. She was an excellent cook. As her mother did before her, she loved to crochet and do embroidery work. A lover of all animals, she had two special dogs, Lucky and Peanut and her special cat, Kitty. With a loving heart our mother cared for and fed every animal that needed attention or a meal. At Dortha's request, visitation and graveside services were private. Burial was at Silver Island Cemetery, rural Kingman, Indiana. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana will care for our mother.
