Dorothy Truett

Dorothy J. Truett, 89, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday June 9, 2004 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. She was born on October 25, 1914 in Newport, IN the daughter of Charles R. and Virgie Jordan Baird. She married William Clarence Truett on July 5, 1935 in Marshall, IL. He survives. Also surviving: one son William K. (Linda) Truett of Westville, and one daughter, Karin Smoot of Ridge Farm; five grandchildren, Robert C. (Kim) Smoot of CA, Anthony R. Smoot of CA, Teddi (Shane) Barney of Gainesville, FL, Keith (Stephanie) Truett of N.C., John Truett of Westville and Rich Truett of Westville; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Dorothy worked at Kenny's IGA in Ridge Farm for many years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was dedicated to the Lord. She held a Good News Club for kids at her house. Dorothy loved sewing and was a dedicated mother and grandmother.
