Dorothy Semonick, 94, of Danville, passed away at 7:48am, Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Gardenview Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on November 3, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Apolonia {Schott} Szymczak. She was united in marriage to Adam Semonick on June 28, 1947 until his passing.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis (Esther) Semonick of Georgetown, David Semonick of Danville, Darlene Smith of Portland, OR, & Deanna Wichtowski of Westville; her grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Hill, Heather Semonick, Adam Semonick, Brandi Semonick, Carl (Amy) Hand, Brian (Tiffany) Hand, Jamie (Philip Jr.) Skinner, Angel (Toby) McDaniel, & Lance (Ashley) Wichtowski; her sixteen great grandchildren; and very special niece, Sally (Mike) Chier. She was preceded in death by: her parents; two infant children; one brother, Norbert Szymczak; and granddaughter, Jessica.
Dorothy worked for Peterson Puritan/CCL/KIK until her retirement at age 79. She enjoyed being outdoors going fishing, camping, swimming, & gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting. Dorothy loved to be with her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private service will be held at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. In lieu of flowers, family wishes memorial donations would be given in Dorothys name to American Cancer Society.
