They enjoyed 18 years of marriage before his passing in 1962. Dorothy then married Clarence Ashby in Danville in 1976. He preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, June Lawson; one grandchild; two sisters, three sons in law, and one step son, Richard Franklin Camp Jr. If you visited Dorothy at home, chances were that she was watching ice skating, Dancing with the Stars, or the Rodeo. She was a huge Lakers fan and absolutely loved Kobe Bryant. Dorothy wrote poetry and had a book of her poems published. She enjoyed writing to her pen pals. Dorothy lived in the Indianapolis area for a few years, and she chose a location near the Indianapolis racetrack so she could watch the people, although she also enjoyed the races. Dorothy was loved by her family; and she will be dearly missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A Celebration of Dorothys life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Catlin.
