Dorothy Moore

Dorothy (Henning) Moore of Fithian, left her earthly home on the wings of an angel on October 11, 2016. She believed in angels, she had made each of her deceased children an angel memorial garden doing all of the work herself. She was born in February 5, 1927 in Fithian the daughter of Christian and Goldie (Bowen) Henning. On July 31, 1945 Dorothy married the love of her life Lawrence Moore, he precedes her in death. Dorothy is also preceded in death by a "special" grandson, Darren Ward; two sons, Daniel Moore, Larry Moore; one daughter, Diana Ward; one daughter-in-law, Claudette Moore; one nephew, Robert Davis; five sisters, Edith Rudolph, Mildred Hansbraugh, Margaret Brown, Annie Henning and an infant. Dorothy is survived by son-in-law, Dale Ward of Fithian; five grandchildren, Doug Ward of Fithian, Vickie (Ray) Parrish of Fithian, Jennifer (Steve) Bainbridge of Fairmount, Heather Wheaton of Oakwood, Mike Moore of Oakwood; eleven great-grandchildren, Luke Parrish, Desiree Bainbridge, Erika Bainbridge, Cody Bainbridge, Kaitlin Blankenship, Brandt Wheaton, Kelsey Ward, Jacob Ward, Lexie Moore, Stephen Moore, Sophie Moore; one great-great-grandaughter, Stella Ward; one niece, Lanita (Jim) Collins. Dorothy's hobbies were knitting, crocheting, making many quilts which she gave to family and friends. She collected porcelain dolls, angels, glass hens and nest, glass slippers and many other things. She was a past member of Eastern Star Coalitionand Danville White Shrine. She was an N.A. at the Veterans Hospital. She attended the Ogdon Church of the Nazarene. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11AM on Monday October 17, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 105 E. South Main Street Oakwood, IL. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery in Fithian. Visitation will be held from 9AM to 11AM October 17, 2016 at the Oakwood funeral home.
