Dorothy May Wilson, 97, of Danville, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Dorothy was born on February 10, 1908 in Fairbury, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred E. and Gertrude M. (Frye) Smith. She married Willard Terry Wilson on March 10, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1998. She is survived by one daughter- Dorothy (Earl) Hittinger of Danville; two sons- Terry (Lorie) Wilson of Worth, Illinois and Ed (Dorothy) Wilson of Huntley, Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, one brother-in-law, and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Wilson and her family moved from Fairbury to Chicago when she was a young girl. She lived there until she and her husband moved to Danville in 1964. She was a member of Bryn Mawr Community Church in Chicago, and a member of the Fairbury Chapter of the Eastern Star for 75 years. She also enjoyed working on genealogy, flower gardening, photography, and entertaining friends and family. She was loved dearly by her family and friends. A celebration of the life of Dorothy May Wilson will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 4 2005 at Dorothy-Pils Memorial Home, 100 West Maple, Fairbury, Illinois 61739, with Pastor Bryan Roby, of the Lighthouse Mennonite Fellowship, Plain City, Ohio, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 -11:30 a.m. at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home on Thursday. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Fairbury. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Mrs. Wilsons name. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of local arrangements.
