Dorothy 'Marlene' Harper

Dorothy Marlene Harper, 76, went to be with Jesus at 1:30 a.m. on April 16, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 30, 1944 the daughter of Dorothy and Guy Warren. They precede her in death.

Marlene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry Dean Harper; children, Larry (Gina) Harper, Denise (Randy Mosier) Harper Shepherd, and Michael (Brandy) Harper; grandchildren, Halie (Phil Dixon) Harper, Gaige (Meghan) Nale, Marlee Harper, Elias Harper, and Eva Harper; great grandchildren, James Nale and Ophelia Nale; and sisters Sharon Packard and Donna Grubb.

Marlene, affectionately known as "Meemaw," loved her husband, Larry. They made a great life together and loved each other very much. Spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do. She got great joy from her children and grandchildren. Marlene also loved her dogs, Bear and Bandit, her cat, Sugar, and all her other furry friends. She enjoyed her TV shows, animals, and she was an expert in crochet. She was loved by all that knew her and will be incredibly missed.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. There will be a graveside following the visitation at Walnut Corner with Pastor James Blue officiating.
