Dorothy Marie Pearson, 79, of Tilton, passed away at 6:50 p.m. est. Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 at Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dorothy was born on April 19, 1932, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of William E. and Gladys L. (Elkins) Burch. She married Tom Pearson in 1991 in Danville. He survives. She was previously married to Merle K. Cramer in 1952 in Danville. She is survived by two daughters- Tina M. Cramer of Tilton and Tamara (Damon) Meadows of Iowa; step-son- Thomas (Jackie) Pearson Jr. of Tacoma, Washington; two step-daughters- Jill Anne L. (John) Richardson of Danville and Amanda (James) Goodwin of Missouri; two sisters- Evelyn Hensley of Tilton and Margy (Bill) Schutz of Catlin; six grandchildren- Cassel C. Meadows, Ilanit Pearson, Kristell Pearson, Thomas Pearson III, Cassandra Richardson and Spencer Richardson; two nieces- Julie Creviston of Danville and Diana Hay of Ohio; one nephew- Brian Hay; special cousin- Jack (Mary) Burch of Louisville, Kentucky; and several other cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister- Betty Jane Burch and brother-in-law- Vern Hensley. Dorothy attended Danville High School. She worked as a bookbinder at Interstate Printing for 31 years and later worked as a bookbinder for the Solo Company in Urbana, until she retired in 1994. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Christ. Dorothy was a great cook. She enjoyed making candy and cheese balls for her family and friends. She was an avid Chicago Cubs, Illini Basketball and Elvis fan. She also enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her family and friends. A Celebration of the life of Dorothy Marie Pearson will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 9th, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Kevin Cox. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
