Dorothy March died at the age of 86 at the North Logan Healthcare Center on May 7th, 2012. Visitation for Mrs. March will be 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 13th that Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Her funeral service will be the following day, Monday, May 14th at 10:30 am in Holy Family Catholic Church, 444 E Main St Danville, IL, with final resting place at the Danville National Cemetery. Sermonia Dorothyglen Roebuck March was born on April 28th, 1926 to Charles and Joanne Roebuck in Nashville, Tennessee. After moving to Danville with her family, Dorothy became a member of Greater Shiloh Baptist Church where she met her husband Clarence E. March. The couple married on November 11th, 1946 and went on to have three daughters. The couple enjoyed a 45-year marriage until Clarence March passed away in 1992. As an active person in the Danville community, Mrs. March was a member of the Laura Lee Senior Auxiliary, the American Legion Woman's Group, and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She also worked for many years as a housekeeper for businesses and homes in the community, including the Hutton household, for over 12 years. During her 86 years, Dorothy made a calm and enduring impression as a true friend, beloved wife and loving mother. Mrs. March was known for being the "sunshine" in her daughters' lives and the rock for her entire family. She was seen as a sincere person who made strong life-long friendships. Her calm demeanor had a great impact on her family, as well as her continuing example of giving unconditional love. Even though Dorothy was a person who spoke her mind, she always displayed a gentle grace that made a great impression on her grandchildren. Dorothy March was greatly loved and has left memories that will be cherished by those who were privileged to be loved by her. Mrs. March is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Joanne Roebuck, her grandmother Sermonia Burrdell, her husband Clarence March and one great grandson. She is survived by her daughters Linda Rummels, Diedre March, and Roslyn Evans. Sons-in-law Coleman Evans and Terry Rummels. Her grandchildren Andrea Heard, Glenna Rummels, Shauneille Turpin, and Adam Rummels. She also has 6-great grandchildren.
