Dorothy M. Schingel

Alvin - Dorothy M. Schingel, 88, of Alvin, IL passed away at 12:25 p.m. on April 7, 2018. Dorothy was born the daughter of Pius C. and Mary E. (Paplawski) Adominas on December 1, 1929 in Westville, IL She married Jack Schingel on June 2, 1951 in Westville, IL and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2016. Survivors include her four sons, Scott (Robin) of Urbana, Dan (Diane) of Murphysboro, IL, David (Marcia) of Crystal Lake, IL, and Eric (Janet) of Fishers, IN as well as nine grandchildren, Alec, John, Mason, Luke, Matthew, Gabrielle, Allison, Lauren, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Rolland and three sisters, Mary, Josephine and Anne. Dorothy was employed as a service representative at Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Danville until the birth of her children. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Paul's Catholic Church 1303 N. Walnut Street Danville. Father Bowan Schmitt will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville, IL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from Noon - 1:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Dorothy's name to St. Paul's Catholic Church or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
