Dorothy M. Mcdermott

Dorothy M. McDermott, 88, of Danville passed away at 1:05pm on Tuesday July 15, 2008 at Hawthorn Inn. Dorothy was born July 13, 1920 in Ashkum, Illinois the daughter of Henry and Florence Neal Peters. On July 31, 1946, she married Joseph McDermott in Chicago. Dorothy had been the office manager for Kresege for 20 years. Later she volunteered at Danville Care and St Paul School helping with the preschool. She loved bowling. She was the loving wife of Joseph who survives. Cherished mother of daughters Donna (Butch) Petit of Hernando, MS, Judy (Mick) Divan of Danville, and Joanne Ciaramita of Wisconsin. Dearest grandmother of Deanna (Matt) Harris, Matt (Celena) Brown, Cheri (Tony) Harlow, Tom (Darcee) Divan, Story (Richard) Moreno, Ray (Kim) Petit ,Josh Ciaramita and great grandmother of 9. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Dorothys life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday July 19, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until time of services at 3:00pm. Pastor Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will be private.
