Dorothy M. Galyen

GEORGETOWN - Dorothy M. Galyen, 81, of Georgetown passed away 1:02am, Friday, January 25th, 2008, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on December 8th, 1926, the daughter of James H. and Edith (McAndrew) Carroll in Detroit, Michigan. She was married to J. Dallas Galyen until his death on March 15th, 1981. She later wed Lewis Galyen until he preceded her in death in 1995. Survivors include: her children, Patricia (Joe) Barton of Williamsport, IN, Denise (Tom) Ward Robbinsville, NC, & Darcey (Steve) Smith of Bismarck; her step-children, David (Karen) Galyen & Louann (Jim) Ewing of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Wendy, Kristi, Jeff, Petra, Brandon, & Bricie; and her great grandchildren, Kandida, Tyler, Layne, & Bailey. Her parents, her sister, and her step son, Mick, preceded her in death. Dorothy was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Parish. She enjoyed baking, crafts, & sewing. She loved her dog, Buttons. She will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Monday, January 28th, 2008, at St. Isaac Jogues Parish, 109 W 7th St, Georgetown. Father John Paninski will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery. Her arrangements were handled by Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Isaac Jogues Parish.
