Obituary for Dorothy M Bruhn Dorothy M. Bruhn, 84, of Champaign passed away Monday evening, April 20, 2015 at Helia Healthcare in Champaign. Born June 2, 1930 in Marion County, Illinois she was the daughter of Cecil and Lucille (Finkbone) Butts. She married Floyd Bruhn on August 15, 1968 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Champaign. Dorothy was a housekeeper, alongside her husband, Floyd, for many years at various businesses in Champaign. She loved working in her vegetable garden at their home, and was a very talented cook in the kitchen. Anytime she was able to spend with her grandkids was special to her. She will be dearly missed by her family. Survivors include, her husband of nearly 47 years, Floyd of Champaign; four children, Timothy Stafford of Atwood, Judy (Tony) Splittstoesser of Champaign, Joann Fairman of Champaign and Brandy (Nicholas) Lokshin of Grays Lake, Illinois; three siblings, Stella Clark of Champaign, Donald Butts of Urbana and Gene (Mary Jo) Butts of Urbana; four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and she had a special place in her heart for her dog, Little Bit. She was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Stafford, Jr.; and two brothers, Homer Butts and Melvin Butts. A graveside service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at Grandview Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in her name for Carle Hospice. Sunset Funeral Home's Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL, is in care of the funeral arrangements.
