Dorothy Louise Loving

Dorothy Louise Loving, 95, died peacefully November 12, 2018, at Hawthorne Inn with her family by her side. Dorothy was born in 1923 to Lon and Lillian (Cox) Thompson in Shreveport, LA. She married Lowell Heidrick Loving on November 7, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband (2006) and her parents, two brothers, Glen and Paul, and a sister, Virginia Suhajda. She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Carolyn) Loving of Marion, Il. and daughter Kathy (Arthur deceased) Wolfinbarger; three grandchildren Joyce (Jon) Bruett, Ryan (Annette) Wolfinbarger, and Kristen (A.J. Brewer) Wolfinbarger; and five great grandchildren, Hannah, Ella, August, Isabelle and William. She is also survived by her special friends, Margaret Murphy and Mary Kay Ahrens. Dorothy enjoyed reading and going out with her Saturday Arby girls. Dorothy was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. Dorothy worked for L. H. Loving and Associates from the beginning of its formation in billing and also provided moral support and served food from "Dorothy's Diner" as needed. Dorothy was also a girl scout leader for three years and on the YWCA Board of Directors for eight years. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held in the First Presbyterian Church lounge, 100 N. Franklin St, Danville, from 10:00 - 12:00 on Thursday, November 15. A memorial prayer will be given at 10:30. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be given to First Presbyterian Church or American Cancer Society. Donation envelopes will be available in the lounge.
