Dorothy Jones

Dorothy M. Jones, 95, formerly of Danville, passed away at 1:35 PM Wednesday, December 25, 2019 in Anaheim CA. Dorothy was born in Danville on August 29, 1924, the daughter of Harold and Josephine Burow, both deceased.

On August 4, 1951 Dorothy married Glenn Jones in Danville. They were married 57 years. She moved to California in 2013 to be close to her daughter Janet. Preceeding her in death were her husband and daughter, Cindy L. Jones. Surviving are daughter Janet (Michael) Larsen of Brea, Ca and her brother Jack Burow of Danville, and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy graduated from St Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1946, Her nursing career was spent at St. Elizabeth Hospital in the Pediatric department until her retirement in 1989, except for a short time of residence in California, and she briefly worked as Dr L.W. Tanners office nurse. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. She enjoyed golf at Harrison Park, playing cards with her many friends, rummaging and tending to her flowers.

A celebration of the Life for Dorothy Jones is scheduled for 3 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville 3940 North Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834 with entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Blue officiating. Visitation will be from 1pm to 3 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Funeral Home. In lieu of Flowers the family requests Memorial Contributions be made in Dorothys name to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, or St Joseph Hospice Agency in Orange Ca, or the charity of the donors choice.
