Dorothy J. Underwood

Dana, Ind. - Dorothy J. Underwood, 81, of rural Dana, passed away at 1:15 a.m. EDT Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

She was born September 22, 1936 in Eugene, Indiana the daughter of the late Lena Ellen (Gebhart) Underwood and Glenn Beck.

Dorothy married Frederick Lee Underwood on June 14, 1952 in Perrysville, Indiana. He survives.

Other survivors include her children: Frederick (Nancy) Underwood, Jr. of Eugene, Indiana; Robert (Jane) Underwood of Kingman, Indiana; Ramona Felgenhauer of Perrysville, Indiana; Sheila (Jerry) McFall of Hillsdale, Indiana; Joyce (Chris) Chambers of Hillsboro, Indiana and Jeanna Maquet of Dana, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one brother: Charles (Betty) Beck of Georgetown, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her son: Bill Underwood; two grandchildren: Bill Underwood, Jr. and Brit Hinkle, and three brothers.

Dorothy was a member of the Eugene United Methodist Church in Eugene, Indiana. She enjoyed gardening, canning and reading her bible.

Memorial service: Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. EDT at the Eugene United Methodist Church, Eugene, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Jon Overbey. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
