Dorothy Gray

Tilton Dorothy Gray, 100, of Tilton, IL passed away at 12:00 PM on December 25, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Dorothy was born on March 14, 1922 the daughter of John and Rose (Waroquier) Goble in Harrisburg, PA. She married Oliver Ray Gray on May 25, 1946 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1970.

Survivors include her sons, Dale (Sina) Gray of Catlin, IL and Dennis (Dianne) Gray of Danville, IL, four grandchildren, Mark (Maurie) Gray, Kelli (Matt) Merold, Jenny (Randy) Miller and Mindy (Doug) Dawson as well as eleven great grandchildren and one sister, Joan Switzer of Catlin, IL.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oliver. daughter-in-law, Brenda Gray, and three brothers, John, Raymond and Ralph Goble.

Dorothy was a member of the Vermilion Heights Christian Church and the Westville American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending her free time sewing, cooking, doing needlepoint, spending time with her family boating, fishing and picnicking at the old Sportsmans Club in Danville, IL.

Dorothy worked in the cafeteria at Bismarck Grade School, General Electric and Walgreens Accounting in Danville, IL

As per Dorothys wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and she will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sunset Memorial Park. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
