Dorothy Elizabeth Anders

Dorothy Elizabeth Anders, 94, of Danville, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Dorothy was born on September 26, 1910 in Danville, the daughter of Willard and Grace (Harrison) Crouse. She married Otto Anders on March 10, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1990. She is survived by 2 sons- Wayne (Jamie) Anders and Barry (Ellen) Anders both of Danville; 2 grandsons- Bret (Angela) Anders of Rogers, Arkansas and Bart Anders of St. Louis, Missouri; 2 step-grandchildren- Christy Clark of Danville and Jason Cozatt of Indianapolis, Indiana; 4 great-grandchildren- Erin, Jessica, Blake, and Lacey; 2 nieces- Margaret Magnuson and Alta Magnuson both of San Diego, California; 2 special friends- Mary Brandt of Danville and Kay Oldham of Canton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son- Tom Anders, 1 daughter-in-law- Barbara Anders, 2 sisters- Sue Collings and Mary Hight, 1 brother- Hubert Crouse, and 1 special friend- Rachel Boston. Dorothy graduated from Hyde Park High School in Chicago in 1928. After graduation she worked as a long distance operator in Chicago. Later in life she worked in the editorial department at Interstate Printers and Publishers, until retiring in 1984. Dorothy was also co-owner of Cedar Hill Orchard. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, traveling, swimming, and playing cards. Dorothy greatly enjoyed her time at Liberty Village, making several friends in a short period of time. A celebration of the life of Dorothy Elizabeth Anders will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, with Pastor Delmar Krueger officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Entombment will be at Springhill Mausoleum following the service.
