Dorothy Graduated from Ridge Farm high School in 1956. She went to work for Illinois Bell, then she worked twelve years as a cook for Pleasant Meadows. She went on to cook at Ridge Farm School for twelve years, then six years at Pine Crest before retiring. You could always go to Mom with any of your problems, she knew the answer and you just felt better walking out her door. She was always there for her children and grandchildren. She Loved them all, each and every one of them. Dorothy loved to feed the squirrels, rabbits, and the birds around her home, they will miss her and so will her family. Dorothy was a huge sports fan; college basketball, football, whether it be Big 10 sports channel, ESPN, or Pittsburgh Steelers, mom would cheer for her team. She was a avid Illini fan and we know she is rooting them on. GO ILLINI!! She was very ornery, and she shared that with many of her friends and children and coworkers. She had a wonderful sense of humor clear to the end. We could always count on her for her love and support. We will miss the day-to-day visits; she was loved by her whole family.
