Dorothy Carlisle

Dorothy Marie Carlisle, 88, of Danville, passed away at 4:03 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Dorothy was born on March 27, 1918 in Hillary, Illinois. She married Lewis Thomas on 1943 in Hillary, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1972. She later married George Carlisle on November 16, 1982. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1990. She is survived by her two sons- Raymond Thomas of Danville and William Thomas of Tilton; four daughters- Virginia Mullins of Danville, Sandra West of Danville, Norma (Leslie) Weiner of Florida, and Carol Bixler of Attica, Indiana; one step-daughter- Helen (Richard) Huber of Danville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son- James Thomas, and one grandson- Randy West. Dorothy worked for 25 years at St. Elizabeths Hospital as a nursing assistant, until she retired. She was a member of Holiday Hills Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing embroidery. Dorothy loved being around her family and her friends. A Tribute to the Life of Dorothy Marie Carlisle will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center 3550 North Vermilion in Danville, with Rev. Russ Peters officiating the service. Visitation will be from 4:00 " 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Tribute Center. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery.
