Ridge Farm, Ill. - Dorothy C. Majors, 88, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 4:58 a.m. CDT Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, Illinois. She was born November 12, 1926 in Ridge Farm, Illinois, the daughter of the late George Zerah and Ruth Fletcher Castle. She married Fred A. Majors on March 24, 1952 in Spokane, Washington. He survives. Other survivors include her children: Stephen(Bonnie)Majors of Kamiah, Idaho; Janice(Rick)Kvam and Rebecca(Tucker)Quetone both of Rochester, Minnesota; Ann Hiles of Richmond Virginia and Allen Majors of Urbana, Illinois; 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hannah Walthall of Indianapolis, Indiana and Gwen(Keith)Heaton of Roseville, Illinois. Dorothy was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Dorothy retired in 1980 from Ridge Farm Elementary, teaching elementary music and 4 & 5 grade classroom. She was a member of the Ridge Farm Friends Church and the United Society Friends Women. Dorothy played the piano and organ at the church off and on since she was 16 years old. She was a 1944 graduate of Ridge Farm High School. Dorothy received her Bachelor Degree in Religious Education and Master's in Sacred Music and Organ in Religious Education from Eastern Baptist Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed music and traveling. There will be no services. Per Dorothy's request, her body will be donated to the Indiana University School of Medicine to help educate future Doctors, Dentists and Health Science Professionals.
