Dorothy Bottom

GEORGETOWN - Dorothy A. (Grant) Bottom, 79, of Georgetown, passed away at 5:15am on Thursday, July 27th, 2006, at Newman Rehab Center in Newman, IL. She was born on February 16th, 1927, the daughter of Bert W. and Nancy Jane (White) McNeese in Georgetown, IL. She married Elvie Gene Grant on October 22nd, 1945, at Covington, IN. He preceded her in death on March 22nd, 1985. She later married Robert Bottom on May 4th, 1990. He preceded her in death on June 27th, 1990. She leaves behind: her son, Terry (Carol) Grant of State Line, IN; her two grandchildren, Schuyler (Jenisa) Grant of Georgetown and Mathew (Michelle) Wheeler of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and her sister, Naomi (Cleve) High of Indianola. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son-Elvie Grant Jr., her daughter-Carolyn Sims, and several siblings. Dorothy was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, DAV Auxiliary in Westville, and the Gold Star American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Dorothy also enjoyed gardening. A celebration of Dorothys life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 29th, 2006, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Rev. Leon Korb will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola.
