Doris M. Ivey

Doris M. Ivey, 89, of Danville, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2022. She was born in Danville on July 20, 1932, the daughter of Carroll and Virgil {Brown} Laird.

Doris is survived by her children Steve (Debbie) Vollstedt, Dan (Brenda) Vollstedt, Carol (Tom) Moody, Patty (Mark) Huckstadt, Bob (Julie) Ivey, 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sister, Leora Hutchison, and a very special niece Barb.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Doris graduated from Danville High School. Later she completed the program for Practical Nursing at DACC. She then worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement in 1997. From her youth Doris was involved in church activities, and often played the piano, organ, and accordion for the services. She also enjoyed playing games with her niece Barb, completing puzzles, shopping, reading, and cooking. Doris adored her family and loved spending time with them. She made holidays, particularly Christmas, very special. She was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A private family service will be held at a later date at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Doris name to the First Baptist Church of Danville.
