Doris M Hamand

Olivet - Doris M. Hamand, 88, of Olivet passed away at 5:30 AM on February 24, 2017 at the Champaign County Nursing Home. Doris was born on August 25, 1928 in Georgetown, IL the daughter of James and Ora (Zigler) Williford. She married Ralph Hamand on January 8, 1950 in Georgetown, IL and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1994. Survivors include one daughter Martha Payne of Danville, IL, one brother, Raymond Williford of Urbana, IL and one grandson, Kevin (Justin) Pinchon of Springfield, IL. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, two sons, Ralph and Marion, one daughter, Sally Griffith, and one infant grandson. Doris worked at the General Electric in Danville for many years. She was a member of the Olivet Church of the Nazarene and had a strong belief in God. She loved to knit, crochet, work puzzles and bake. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. James Blue will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM March 3, 2017 at the funeral home.
