Danville Doris June Finley, 85, of Danville went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2018 at 1:35 PM at Colonial Manor in Danville, IL with her family by her side.
Doris was born on June 15, 1933 the daughter of Alfred and Carmie (Reynolds) Lawless in Hedrick, IN. She married Wayne M. Finley on January 29, 1956 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1975.
Survivors include her four children, Wanda (John) Cawley of Virginia Beach, VA, Colleen Finley of Indianapolis, IN, Kyle (Carol) Finley of Bismarck, IL and Lisa (Don) Kibler of Danville, IL; one Aunt, Charlotte Reynolds of Georgetown, IL, brothers-in-law Nolan Leamons and Bob Finley and sister-in-law Joan Finley all of Danville, IL; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren as well as many very special extended family members.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne and sister, Bernice Leamons.
Doris attended CrossRoads Christian Church with her family. In her freetime she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing Euchre and fishing. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was always up for a game of Ping Pong. Doris knew she had "done her job" when the grandkids could beat her. Doris was one who never met a stranger and was always up for playing practical jokes.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt Thank You to the Staff at Colonial Manor for the excellent care Doris received during her stay.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL. Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials are requested to CrossRoads Christian Church Missions or the Danville Womens Care Clinic.
