Doris Joy Clark passed away peacefully in her sleep and into the arms of Jesus on February 16, 2021.
She was born to Charles Wesley and Sarah Ellen (Murphy) Mitchell, in Danville, Illinois on October 28, 1935. Doris married Richard W. Clark on September 22, 1956. They shared a very special kind of love, one like the love story in The Notebook. Their love for each other was unconditional. Together they had two children, Roger (Julie) Clark and Pam (Greg) Barrett. They were blessed with seven grandchildren, Amber (Brad) Bennett, Andrew (Jayde) Baumeister, Kayla (Kevin) Stoffel, Cody, Katelyn (Darren) White, Kalinda (Alex) Pelham, and Brooke (Josh) Allen. They also had 11 great-grandchildren, Declan and Dryce Baumeister, Isabella Pearman and Chandler Pelham, Landon and Layton White, Gabriel Clark and Eisland Bennett, Tyler Hansen, Violet and Scarlett Stoffel.
She is survived by her husband, children, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Jan (Mike) Zedrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Charlie, Larry, and Lyle Mitchell, and an infant sister, Betty Lou Mitchell.
Doris worked for the telephone company and later Old National Bank until retirement. She and her husband were members of the South Side Church of Nazarene in Tilton for many years and also enjoyed visiting other local churches throughout the community. Her witness for her Savior was evident in her love for helping everyone. She loved spending time with her husband and family, sewing and crafting, and sitting on the deck watching her grandchildren and great-children play while listening to gospel music.
