Doris Jacquelyn Tellier, 80, of Oakwood, went to be with her Lord at 3:13 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at Provena U.S.M.C. in Danville. Doris was the daughter of Nettie Lee Shank and John W. Shank. She was born on January 14, 1926 in Danville. Doris married Leland E. Tellier, Sr. on May 5, 1954 in Danville. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1993. Doris was a graduate of Lourdes High School in Chicago, where most of her childhood years were spent. She was a nursing assistant for several years before her retirement. Doris was a member of the Oakwood Nazarene Church; where she sang and with her enjoyment of working with children she taught Sunday school. She was a former board member and president of the Nazarene Missionary Society. Doris enjoyed writing poems and three had been published. Survivors include a son Larry (Leslie) Smith of Oroville, WA, a daughter Linda Bryan of Santa Fe, TX, a son Leland (Joan) Tellier, Jr. of Huffman, TX, a daughter Lois (Glen) Sprouls of Rockville, IN and a daughter Mary (Mike) McNealy of Hoopeston, eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. One great-granddaughter preceded her in death. A celebration of Doriss life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor William G. Connell officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
