Doris Evelyn Clapp

Doris Evelyn Clapp, 88, died on March 4, 2016 at Davis Health Care Center in Wilmington, NC. She was born on May 15, 1927 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Ollie and Josephine (Mariage) Sexton. Doris married Clarence "Pete" Clapp and enjoyed 69 years of marriage. Doris is survived by her husband; daughter Diane Welch; sons Bill Clapp, Mark Clapp, Steve Clapp, and Dan Clapp; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and sister Kathryn Swaney. She is preceded in death by her brothers Harold and Bobby Sexton. Doris loved to travel and spend time with her great-grandbabies. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Saturday April 16, 2016 from 1-3pm with service to follow at 3pm at the funeral home.
