Doris Brown

Doris E. Brown, age 89, of Danville, passed away at 2:44 pm on Monday, November 5, 2007 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born October 28, 1918 in Danville the daughter of Fredrick and Golda (Haas) Royalty. Doris married Kenneth Dutch Brown on June 21, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1975. Doris is survived by one son: James (Jane) Brown of Covington, IN; one daughter: Susan (Ray) OHerron of Danville; one sister: Betty Ellis of Danville; six grandchildren: Jason, Christopher, Michael, Ryan, David, and Daniel; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Gerald, Omar and Fredrick Royalty; and two sisters: Bernice Randle and Avis Wilder. Doris graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in education. She then taught for many years at various schools in Danville. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing needle work and reading. She was a member of the Danville United Church of Christ, the Womans Club, Business and Professionals Club, the Music Appreciation Group and the Womans Fellowship at the Danville United Church of Christ.
