Doris Brooks

Doris L. (Winn) Brooks, 89, of Danville passed away on June 13, 2011 at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Doris was born on August 1, 1921 in Danville daughter of Samuel E. and Laura E. (Wynn) Winn. She married Everett K. Brooks on November 6, 1941. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and three sisters. Survivors include one beloved son Larry K. Brooks of Springfield, IL; two sisters Mary Lou Jaeger and Genevieve Gen (Bill) Citizen; several nieces and nephews; one special niece Lynn Citizen who helped her thru her remaining years. Doris was a homemaker. She loved raising flowers and visiting family and friends. A Celebration of Doriss Life will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Tony Goss officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
