Doris A. Belser

Terre Haute, Ind. - Doris A. Belser, 85, of Terre Haute and formerly of Cayuga, passed away at 6:10 p.m. EST Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Westminster Village in Terre Haute.

She was born December 26, 1935 to the late Harold W. and Lucille L. (Walters) Barker. She married James F. Belser on August 13, 1960 in Morocco, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2016.

Doris retired in June 1988 from North Vermillion High School after 21 years in the Guidance Department. She was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church, Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Retired Indiana Public Employees Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lucille Barker, husband James, daughters Cheryl Lynn Skinner and Carol Ann Hazel, and a brother, Larry Barker.

Survivors include her son, Craig and wife, Lennie Belser of Clinton, Indiana; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A private burial was held at Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
