Dorcas Y. Reitsma

Cayuga, Ind. - Dorcas Y. Reitsma, 84, of Cayuga and formerly of Lodi, passed away at 7:03 p.m. EST Monday, December 14, 2015 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Dorcas was born September 8, 1931 in Eugene, Indiana the daughter of the late Ethel Newell Hicks and Morris Harvey. She married Tomme R. Reitsma, Sr. on October 2, 1948 in Lafayette, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1999. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte(Robert)Sloan of Cayuga, Indiana and Ginny(Jack)Mann of Watseka, Illinois; five sons, Myreon(Janice)Reitsma of Danville, Illinois; Tomme(Shelley)Reitsma, Jr. of Kingman, Indiana; Ray Reitsma of Danville, Illinois; Edwin(Laura)Reitsma of Cloverdale, Indiana and Darren Reitsma of Watseka, Illinois; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; one sister, Bobbi Kennedy of Terre Haute, Indiana; four brothers, Stanley Harvey of Cayuga, Indiana; Aaron(Barbara)Harvey of Dana, Indiana; Ernie Harvey of Silverwood, Indiana and David(Linda)Harvey of Terre Haute, Indiana. Dorcas was preceded in death by four grandchildren. Dorcas was a member of the Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and church family. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor William Lehman; Burial: Miller Cemetery in rural Lodi; Visitation: 10 a.m. EST Friday until time of services at the church. Contributions may be made to the Waterman Baptist Church, 8540 West State Road 234, Kingman, Indiana 47952. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
