Cayuga, Ind. -- Dora Bailey, 90, of Cayuga, passed away at 1:50 a.m. CDT Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. She was born June 14, 1920 in Georgetown, Illinois the daughter of the late Herman and Alice Nale Boots. She married Herman Ernest Bailey on June 5, 1939 in Horseshoe, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1971. Survivors include: four daughters, Dora Elizabeth(Elmer)Swisher and Barbara Ann Emory both of Cayuga, Indiana; Rose(Danny)Davis of State Line, Indiana and Helen(Cliff)Sowers of Newport, Indiana; one son, David Lee(Patty)Bailey of Newport, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Wilma; infant son; great granddaughter, Victoria "Tori" Hathaway; three sisters and three brothers. Dora worked at the former Morgan Canning Company in Cayuga. She enjoyed sewing and watching NASCAR and her favorite driver Jimmy Johnson. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Friday, August 13, 2010 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Don Morgan; Burial: Yankee Point Cemetery, Humrick, Illinois; Visitation: 1 hour prior to services on Friday, August 13, 2010 at the funeral home.
