Donnie Hutson Jr., 52, of Danville passed away September 28, 2021 at his home in Danville, Illinois. He was born in Danville on March 27, 1969, the son of Donnie and Hazel (Coon) Hutson in Danville, IL. He married the love of his life Amanda (Hale) Hutson on March 22, 2019 where they had many interesting and fun adventures like the slingshot in Orlando. They also went to a sniper shootout in Tennessee and many many other fun things.

Surviving Donnie include his parents, Donnie Sr. and Hazel; wife, Amanda; children, Donnie Hutson III, Rachel (Eric) McGarrh, Mary (Phillip) Pollard, and Samantha (Trey) Wash; step children, Taylor Hale, Walter Parsons Jr., and Matthew Parsons; two special nephews that were like sons to him, Billy (Shaley) Guge and Justin (Kayla) Guge; grandchildren, Raylynn Hutson, Julianna Pollard, Lynkon Reed, Audia Reed, Letty Pollard, TJ Wash, Tayvin Wash, and Tahzaya Wash, siblings, David Hutson, Bill Guge, Luella (Dino) Kargol, and Brian Johnson; nieces and nephews, Jasmine Hutson, David Hutson Jr., Dusty Hutson, Mary Kate Hutson, Ashley Hutson, Zane Hutson, Tiffany Sapp, and Alvin Sapp; as well as best friends that he thought of as friends, Bo Miller, Gary Wyman, Michael Neil, Oakley, Eric Barfell, Brandon Barfell, Randy Tinsman, and Denny Davis.

Donnie is preceded in death by stepson Skyler Parsons; niece, Deanna Hutson; his grandparents; and some aunts and uncles.

Donnie was an amazing man. He was very intelligent, caring, and loving. He was an Army Veteran, a member of American Legion Post 210, as well as a sniper for the state of Illinois. He also worked at the Department of Corrections. He had many state and Army friends whom he loved very much.

Donnie was also a family man. He had 4 wonderful children who were his world. Plus 2 bonus sons. He had many grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed going to the parks, Indiana Beach, Chuck E Cheese, birthday parties, ball games, and he especially loved getting the yard ready for Halloween just for the grandbabies. He loved doing magic tricks for them as well. He was so proud of his children and how great they were doing in their own lives.

Donnie loved taking care of his parents and all the memories he had with them. Like doing karaoke at the blue bird, taking family trips, picking on his younger brother Dave. He loved telling stories about the stuff they did as kids. He loved all of his brothers, sister, and all of his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He had a passion for singing and playing the guitar and writing many many songs. Donnie was also big into electronics and NASA. He loved building model rockets and programming. He also had a passion for flying and skydiving. He loved to repel when he worked for the state as well. He loved getting people out of their comfort zone and challenging them to do better in their lives. He cherished each and every one of his family and friends. He would always be doing something. You would always see him with a smile on his face. He truly loved everyone. He would always give you a hug and either say 'Have a blessed day' or 'I love you.'

Donnie will be sadly missed by many family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Randy Downing. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held the evening prior on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 210.
