Donna Sue Dill

Donna Sue Dill, 87 of Georgetown peacefully passed away at 3:55 pm, Monday, January 29, 2024 at Fountain Springs Assisted Living in Covington. She was born on October 8, 1936 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, the daughter of Lee G. and Anniebell [Thomas] Loggains. She was united in marriage to Herbert "Herb" Dill and shared 71 years together before his passing last year in August.

Donna is survived by her children Terry (Kelly) Dill of New Berlin, Pam (Greg) Emmert of Georgetown, Sandy Chandler of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Christopher (Susan) Sollars of Georgetown, Stacie (Mike) Sollars of Georgetown, Jodie (Rich) Ingram of Danville, James (Marie) Chandler of Monticello, Jamie (Josh) Baird of Vermilion Grove, Joe (Marie) Yowell of Marietta, GA, Whitney Emmert of Indianapolis, IN, Jeremy (Andrea) Staub of New Berlin, Brodie Dill of Loami, Breanna (Keyson) Markley of Springfield, Bailie Dill of Charleston, and Josh (Erin) Dill of Springfield; and her 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Rick; her grandson, Jacob Chandler; her son-in-law, Jim Chandler; and all her brothers and sisters. With her passing, the Loggains family circle has been completed.

Donna graduated from the Lakeview College of Nursing and proudly took a nursing position at Lakeview Provena Hospital upon receiving her license. Though the hospital has taken on several name changes throughout the years, Donna remained a constant until her retirement from the (then) Lakeview Hospital as a hospice nurse. She was a member of the Lakeview Alumni Association and enjoyed attending church at Georgetown Church of the Nazarene. She could often be found taking walks around Georgetown and was very talented at crocheting and quilting.

A celebration of Donnas life will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes Houghton-Leasure Chapel, located at 200 E. West Street, in Georgetown, Illinois. Pastor Joe Humrichous will be officiating. Visitation will be held 1:30 pm- 3:00 pm on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to Herb at Georgetown Cemetery.
