Donna Parker

Donna Lee Parker, age 68, of Danville, passed away at 5:55 pm on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born March 13, 1940 in Harvey, IL the daughter of Arthur and Loretta (Templin) Schindler. Donna married Don Nibbelin in June of 1983 in Danville. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2007. She is survived by her four sons: Mike, Ted, Chuck and David; one sister: Barb Patterson; eight grandchildren: Keith, Kayla, Josh, Alex, Katie, Brandon, Samantha, and C.J.; two great grandchildren and two nieces: Tracey and Jennifer. She was preceded in death by her parents. Donna graduated from the Presbyterian St. Lukes School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the VA Hospital for over 25 years until her retirement in 1999. She loved planting and working with flowers, collecting pictures and collectibles of mushroom and owls and going house boating on Lake Cumberland. She enjoyed sharing and discussing all things related to Disney with her grandchildren. Donna never missed holidays or birthdays. She would enjoy making her own cards for these occasions on her computer. Donna was a strong willed, independent woman that was loved by all that knew her. Per Donnas wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, June 13, 2008 at the VA Protestant Chapel.
