Donna Mae Vollmer

URBANA- Donna Mae Vollmer 68, of Urbana, and formerly of Springfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Champaign County Nursing Home. Donna was born on May 9, 1946 in Urbana, the daughter of Albion and Evelyn Hartman Juday. They precede her in death. Surviving are her five children, Ryan Vollmer of Urbana, Nick (Danielle) Vollmer of Murphysboro, TN., Randy (Krystal) Vollmer of Longview, Dale Vollmer of Columbia, SC., and Trisha Vollmer of Sydney, Australia; two brothers, Harold (Mary Lou) Juday of Urbana and LaVerne (Diane) Juday of Jeffersonville, IN,; seven grandchildren, Cassie, Richard, Dakota, Eddie, Brittany, Annalea, and Hannah; and three great-grandchildren, Landen, Connor, and Lexi. A proud mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, you could often find Donna spending time and having fun with the people she loved most in life. She never let anyone or anything get her down, and she enjoyed entertaining her many friends and family. Donna had a great love and passion for traveling, driving her beloved truck, and having coffee with her dear friends. She loved her family and her grandchildren, and they loved her. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made in Donnas honor to the American Cancer Society or to Carle Hospice. Cremation rights have been accorder by Sunset Funeral Home, Champaign-Urbana Chapel. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, Champaign-Urbana Chapel 710 N. Neil St., Champaign. A joyful memorial celebration will be held immediately following at 4pm at the funeral home.
